ITV confirmed his sudden departure, revealing: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. "ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add." The star's resignation followed on from Ofcom receiving 41,000 complaints about his comments blasting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after they took part in a historical interview with American talk show icon Oprah Winfrey.
