Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is set to be warned by the club after breaking social distancing rules. The 20-year-old, who is touted as a long-term replacement for the outgoing David Silva, is likely to have disappointed Pep Guardiola by flouting distancing guidelines with a game of beach football.
The youngster was challenged to a match by members of the public at Formby beach on Sunday and he joined in despite currently preparing for the return of professional action.
Foden has made 26 appearances so far during the 2019/20 campaign, 14 of those coming for the reigning champions in the Premier League.
