Peter Leven would take the Aberdeen job until the end of the season - if it gives the Pittodrie board the time to get the right manager in.
The first-team coach, who last week admitted it was an honour and a privilege to be taking the Dons job, has led them to back-to-back victories over Motherwell and Ross County.
Leven has steadied the ship and those wins have given them a bit of breathing space from the relegation play-off spot.The Pittodrie hierarchy are also aware that as well as improving results that Leven has lifted the spirits and confidence at Cormack Park.
He also has the full backing of the Dons’ dressing room. The Aberdeen hierarchy are currently at the final stages of their managerial search and Elfsborg coach Jimmy Thelin is very much in their thinking.Thelin made it clear a few weeks ago that he didn’t want to leave his club Elfsborg up against it with their domestic campaign about to kick-off.
