The Movie Academy has padded the presenter ranks for the 95th Oscars this weekend. Halle Bailey, Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Chastain, John Cho, Andrew Garfield, Hugh Grant, Danai Gurira, Salma Hayek Pinault, Nicole Kidman, Florence Pugh and Sigourney Weaver will present statuettes Sunday.

In addition to DeBose, Jordan and Monáe, the Academy also announced that Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Troy Kotsur, Jonathan Majors, Melissa McCarthy, Deepika Padukone, Questlove, Zoe Saldaña and Donnie Yen will also present at the award ceremony. DeBose takes the Oscar stage following her viral rap at February’s BAFTA ceremony, which shouted out female nominees including Angela Bassett and Viola Davis. DeBose won the supporting actress Oscar in 2022 for “West Side Story,” marking her first Academy Award nomination.

Final Oscar balloting starts today. The 9,579 eligible Academy voters are now going to make their choices, and they have only until March 7 at 5 p.m. PT to do it. There is lots of speculation, but the only thing that really counts right now is what these AMPAS members check off on their digital ballots. Good luck, everyone.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director What’s going on with Paramount’s “Star Trek” film franchise? Don’t ask Chris Pine, even though he’s one of its headlining stars. Pine has played Captain Kirk in three “Star Trek” movies, and he is painfully out of the loop when it comes to the long-delayed and long-overhauled fourth movie. Directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Noah Hawley developed “Star Trek 4” scripts that never got off the ground. “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman was the most recent filmmaker attached to “Star Trek 4,” but he left the project to shoot Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” reboot instead. Paramount announced last September it was removing “Star Trek 4” from its release calendar. As part of Chris Pine’s new Esquire cover story, franchise producer J.J. Abrams said the “Star Trek 4″ script is in a good place. “I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one,” he added. But even still, Pine is out of the loop.

Carter has signed a multi-year deal with ABC, elevating the ESPN Andscape senior entertainment reporter to a new role as entertainment reporter for all shows under the ABC and ABC News umbrella, including “Good Morning America,” “GMA3” and “ABC News Live.” In addition to her new duties, Carter will continue her work at ESPN Andscape — a media platform dedicated to creating, highlighting, and uplifting the diverse stories of Black identity — where she currently hosts the celebrity interview series “Another Act.” Recent guests include Queen Latifah, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Viola Davis, Zoe Saldaña and Keke Palmer. She also interviewed the creators and the original Broadway production of “Hamilton” in the special program “Hamilton In-Depth with Kelley Carter,” which coincided with the premiere of Hamilton on Disney+.

Sources tell Variety that Prime Video has snapped up all international rights, excluding the U.S., to Justin Kurzel’s “The Order,” which stars Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult in a story about the titular white supremacist organization that operated in the 1980s. The project is penned by Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated writer Zach Baylin (“King Richard”), who based the screenplay on Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt’s book “The Silent Brotherhood.” Published in 1989, the book details the activities of the radical-right hate group The Order, which was one of the most sinister organizations to emerge in America since the Ku Klux Klan.

As the Berlin International Film Festival gets underway, so do big purchases on the European Film Market for future movie projects. And Deadline has the scoop on the first big deal at the Berlinale.  Amazon Prime Video has snatched up the international rights to “The Bluff,” a Caribbean action-survival movie with Zoe Saldaña and the Russo Bros.

Zoe Saldana was spotted on the set of her new Paramount+ series Lioness in Mallorca, Spain, on Saturday.The 44-year-old Avatar star filmed intense scenes emerging from the water with her co-stars in full tactical gear.Saldana - who was seen with her son on Thursday - was dressed in military attire, wielding a rifle with large flippers attached to her right hip as if the group of agents had been swimming before arriving at the beach.After removing her helmet, Zoe pulled her long hair back in a ponytail and walked with her team in formation towards a wooded area.The Paramount+ show, created by Yellowstone showrunner Taylor Sheridan, is based on a real-life CIA program.

Nicole Kidman and Maya Erskine are teaming up for the new thriller The Perfect Nanny.Maya, 35, who is the creator and a writer on the limited series, is also starring as a seemingly perfect caretaker with two young children in her charge, until her personality deteriorates into something sinister.  Deadline reported the suspense-filled series, which will be shown on HBO, is based on the book by the same name. Teaming up: Nicole Kidman, 55, and Maya Erskine, 35, will team up for the HBO series The Perfect Nanny.

Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña seemed to be having a great time as they were seen filming their upcoming television series Lioness on Thursday.The 55-year-old Big Little Lies star and the 44-year-old Avatar: The Way Of Water actress showed off wide grins as they chatted on the set, which had migrated to a boat in the Port of Palma De Mallorca, Spain.The scenes they were filming also appeared to mark the first time the two leads were spotted filming together, after they were previous spotted filming separate scenes in Spain.Their new series Lioness, which was created by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan, features Kidman — also an executive producer on the show — as CIA Senior Supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, who has developed a reputation for ascending through the ranks at the agency by playing the political game.
