Wolf Alice have launched a new series of mini-documentaries to accompany their upcoming ‘Blue Lullaby’ EP – check out the first instalment below.The North London band released a “lullaby version” of their 2021 single ‘The Last Man On Earth’ last week. It’s one of four ‘Blue Weekend’ tracks to have been given a stripped-back reimagining for the aforementioned four-track collection, which arrives on June 24 via Dirty Hit (pre-save here).Today (May 10) Wolf Alice posted the first episode of the Stroma Cairns-directed Making Blue Lullaby.

Wolf Alice have delivered a cover of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard‘s song ‘Sense’, performing their rendition on Australian radio station, triple j.Aired today (May 6), Wolf Alice’s version of the song is sultry and smooth, capturing the laid-back feeling of the original. Driven by silky guitars, stirring keys and singer Ellie Rowsell’s soft vocals, they breathe new life into the 2015 cut, lifted from King Gizz’s ‘Paper Mâché Dream Balloon’ LP.“I think they’re such a prolific band and so talented that they can have these hidden pop gems, in my opinion, that it’s really clever,” said bassist Theo Ellis in a post-performance interview.

Wolf Alice have announced plans to release a new EP featuring lullaby versions of select songs from their ‘Blue Weekend’ album.Titled ‘Blue Lullaby’, the release will feature four reworked tracks from their 2021 album including new versions of ‘No Hard Feelings’, ‘Lipstick On The Glass’, ‘How Can I Make It OK?’ and ‘The Last Man On Earth’, the latter of which you hear below now.“’Blue Lullaby’ came about because we wanted to strip down some of our more emotional songs from ‘Blue Weekend’ and see if they hit any different,” said frontwoman Ellie Rowsell.“We also had a really nice moment during the ‘Blue Weekend’ campaign singing one of our songs with a choir and we wanted to experience that again with a few other songs, especially as there are a lot of harmonies and a lot of vocal layering on ‘Blue Weekend’.“Hearing multiple voices singing together is an unparalleled feeling to me so I’m happy we got to record this experience and I hope people enjoy it.”‘Blue Lullaby’ will be released on June 24 via Dirty Hit. Wolf Alice guitarist Joff Oddie has issued a statement regarding his ongoing absence from the band’s current North American tour.The London group kicked off their latest run of headline dates last month in support of their third studio album, last year’s acclaimed ‘Blue Weekend’.As many fans pointed out on social media, Oddie has been replaced by a stand-in guitarist at all of the shows on the tour so far. Tonight (April 7) Wolf Alice took to Twitter to post “a message from Joff” in which he explained why he’s temporarily missing from the line-up.“I’m sorry I’ve been late in getting in touch with you all,” his statement began.

Glastonbury 2022 go on sale this evening (March 24), with ticket and coach packages available to registered fans.This year’s festival, which will be held from June 22-26, has already sold out after deposits that were initially paid for Glastonbury 2020 were rolled over for a second year following the cancellation of the 2021 festival.Anyone who had paid a deposit had until March 7 to pay off the remaining balance (£230 + £5 booking fee).However, any returned tickets will be available here tonight as part of a package that involves travel to and from the festival by coach.The sale will be limited to 2 tickets per transaction, to reflect the limited number of seats available per coach. A list of departure points is available here and you must be registered to buy a ticket to Glastonbury 2022.There will also be a sale of general admission tickets this Sunday (March 27).

Fontaines D.C. are gearing up to perform a free show in Dublin for St Patrick’s Day.Set to take place at The Complex in Dublin this Thursday (March 17), the show, which will also be live-streamed, will see the five-piece premiere tracks from their upcoming third album ‘Skinty Fia’, which is due to arrive next month.The event, put on in collaboration with whiskey brand Jameson, will also include a short film about the band’s Dublin roots, looking at their formative years.“This St. Patricks Day, we’ll be doing a live stream with @jamesonwhiskey from Dublin, to you, wherever you are,” Fontaines D.C.
