Fontaines D.C. have announced that they will release a new version of their third studio album, ‘Skinty Fia‘.The band – consisting of frontman Grian Chatten, guitarists Carlos O’Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor Deegan and drummer Tom Coll – took to their official Instagram page to announce the brand new version of the LP along with its artwork.“We’ve got a new version of ‘Skinty Fia’ coming out called ‘Skinty Fia Go Deo’, which translates to ‘Skinty Fia Forever’,” read their Instagram caption.

Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten has opened up about suffering mental health issues while touring, revealing he previously experienced “fits of anxiety and rage”.The Irish musician and Fontaines frontman, who released his debut solo album ‘Chaos For The Fly‘ this week, reflected on how his attitude to touring has evolved over the years in a new interview with NME.“Around ‘A Hero’s Death’, I was really struggling to reshape myself to fit this new kind of lifestyle, and I was dealing with fatigue… and mental illness; the depression that occurred,” he explained.“The anxiety was pretty intense as well. I was just sick of not fucking living anywhere for five years.

Fontaines DC frontman Grian Chatten has praised Arctic Monkeys, saying that they have “maintained their credibility” despite achieving huge global success.The Irish singer-songwriter recently spoke to NME about his debut solo album ‘Chaos For The Fly’, which was released on June 30. It followed Fontaines’ acclaimed third record, 2022’s ‘Skinty Fia’.Next month the band will hit the road to support Arctic Monkeys on their huge North American stadium tour.“I don’t know what to expect – we haven’t done a support tour since the first album,” Chatten told NME.

Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten has shared his debut solo single – listen to ‘The Score’ below.The stripped-back intimate track sees the Irish singer “shift his creative process from a collaborative endeavour to a solely introspective one”, per a press release. It was produced by Chatten and Dan Carey, the latter of whom helmed all three Fontaines albums to date.“You know the score/ It ain’t limited to your knowing looks and touches anymore,” Ghatten sings over acoustic guitar before a minimal electronic beat kicks in.

NME caught up with Fontaines D.C.‘s Carlos O’Connell on the red carpet of the BRITs 2023, where he discussed the band’s upcoming tour with Arctic Monkeys, new music, and how much he’s been missing his bandmates while they’ve been on tour. Arctic Monkeys have shared details of a North American tour for 2023 with Fontaines D.C. on support – see dates below as well as how to purchase tickets.The Sheffield band first head stateside next summer, kicking the tour off at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US on August 25.

Fontaines D.C. have added another date to their UK and Ireland tour.The post-punk band will now play Nottingham’s Rock City on November 22, which is half way through their 24-date tour this autumn and winter.Tickets for the new show go on general sale this Friday (September 2) from 10am BST here.

Fontaines D.C. have met the family of the late Margaret Keane who inspired their song ‘In ár gCroíthe go deo’.Back in 2020, the band came across the story of Keane, who died in 2018, in The Irish Post.The family of the former dinner lady, who lived in Coventry for most of her life before passing at age 73, had originally planned to have the Irish epitaph “In ár gCroithe go deo” – which translates as “in our hearts forever” – engraved on her headstone.

Fontaines DC have said they think they could do “a really good tune” with Lana Del Rey.Speaking to NME for this week’s Big Read, the band’s vocalist Grian Chatten said he wanted to write songs with Rey when discussing some possible future collaborations.“I just want to write some tunes with her,” Chatten told NME. “Her music leans into an era of cinema that I love, and she writes in a way where people can find stories in her music.

Fontaines D.C. are launching a scholarship at the BIMM Institute in Dublin, where the band’s members all met while studying music.The scholarship will cover course fees for the full four-year-duration of a student to complete a BA (Hons) Commercial Modern Music degree, worth €12,000.
