Taylor Tomlinson is heading to late night TV as a new host!

CBS is making its latest moves in late-night.

Top professional funny people have weighed in on this week’s news that the annual Golden Globe awards have introduced two new categories, one of which will honor best performance in stand-up comedy on television.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Netflix has picked up a sex-advice talk show from “E!’s Nightly Pop” host Zach Noe Towers as its latest addition to its SiriusXM channel Netflix Is a Joke Radio. Airing biweekly on Thursdays on channel 93 beginning June 15 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, “After Hours with Zach Noe Towers” is described as “a funny, sexy, one hour radio show where no topic is too taboo and no story is too raw…as long as it gets a laugh.” Per Netflix, “In each episode, Zach will bring listeners into his own erotic escapades, welcome special guests to share their sexual journeys, and take calls to give their best advice on everything from one night stands to epic orgies to sexy souvenirs (STIs). Grounded by Zach’s signature blend of sex-positive humor and well-mannered midwestern upbringing, the show will help make conversations around sex more accessible and fun.”

Village Roadshow Entertainment has made a wave of additions and promotions with Nic Gordon being elevated to Vice President of Feature Film for Village Roadshow Pictures (VRP), and Anne MacKay is being named as a Creative Executive at VRP. Elizabeth Elliott joins VREG as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs. Gordon and MacKay will report to Jillian Apfelbaum and Tristen Tuckfield, VRP’s Executive Vice Presidents of Feature Film. Elliot will report to Louis Santor, COO, VREG.

EXCLUSIVE: Just For Laughs Montréal on Monday took the wraps off its annual New Faces of Comedy list for 2022, a group of 62 up-and-coming comics that have been selected to participate in JFL’s showcases later this month.

Stuart Miller This year, Just for Laughs has plenty to celebrate. After the COVID pandemic forced the legendary Montréal comedy fest to go completely virtual in 2020 and a hybrid of virtual and live — but with some shows shipped out to New York and Los Angeles — in 2021, Just for Laughs is back in full force in its hometown this July. And it’s a milestone: this is the 40th anniversary of the iconic festival, with a star-studded gala show planned for July 30 as a capstone on the event. JFL continues adapting to the streaming world in the pandemic’s aftermath and will celebrate its role as a developer of new talent with Kevin Hart, Pete Holmes and Taylor Tomlinson, who got early breaks there, returning in very different roles.
