Redbox Entertainment – yes, they of the DVD kiosks that still exist – helped produce “Maggie Moore(s).” It’s easy to see why they would want a part of the film: stick the distinctive mugs of stars Jon Hamm and Tina Fey on a tile, and it’s bound to pick up some curious viewers who assume the presence of the “Mad Men” and “30 Rock” stars lend the project some prestige.

Nick Mohammed still can’t believe how lucky he was to have scored the role of Nate Shelley in Apple’s multi-Emmy Award-winning series Ted Lasso—but it almost didn’t happen. Mohammed had set his sights on a different role which he didn’t land but at the time he didn’t realize it didn’t work out for a reason.

The writers strike has entered its fifth week and is about to enter its second month and shows no sign of abating.

The Paley Center’s Ted Lasso Season 3 event that was to be held on Tuesday in Los Angeles has been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances.” All ticket buyers will automatically be issued a full refund.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Plans have been scrapped to mark the Apple TV+ “Ted Lasso” Season 3 finale with a major Paley Center-sponsored celebration in Beverly Hills on May 30. “We are reaching out to share the news that due to unforeseen circumstances the ‘Ted Lasso’ season finale screening and event planned for Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills will not be taking place as scheduled,” the Paley Center said in a statement on Thursday. “All ticket buyers will automatically be issued a full refund. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please email customercare@paleycenter.org and a representative will get back to you as soon as possible.”

Both comedians, who act and write, have signed deals for development, co-production and distribution of new scripted material, which BBC Studios will rep and distribute internationally. Mohammed is a double Emmy nominee who created and co-starred in “Intelligence” alongside “Friends” star David Schwimmer. He is perhaps best known for his role as Nate in “Ted Lasso” and will be seen in the upcoming feature “Maggie Moore(s)” opposite Jon Hamm and Tina Fey. Mohammed is also an associate of the Inner Magic Circle. Morgan recently had a hit with “Cunk on Earth” in which she starred as professional dim-wit Philomena Cunk. She is also known for comedy show “Mandy,” which she created, wrote and directed, and has starred in shows including “After Life” and “Motherland.”
