My Morning Jacket is about to make a racket.Starting April 1, Jim James’ artsy jam band kick off an 18-show run — that they’ve dubbed the ‘My Morning Jacket is On Tour’ tour — in support of their forthcoming tenth studio album “Is.”They’ll be joined by special guests Bendigo Fletcher, Grace Cummings, Lacey Guthrie, Future Killer and The Jesse Lee’s on select dates at theaters, amphitheaters, music halls and pavilions all over the country.As of now, the “Wordless Chorus” group doesn’t have any New York or New Jersey concerts lined up for the spring outing. However, if you want to make the pilgrimage to see them live this year, My Morning Jacket is headlining a pair of festivals.First, they’ll play all three nights of their self-curated One Big Holiday Festival in Miramar Beach, FL on April 3-5.Then, on May 4, the Louisville natives will wrap their jaunt at the stacked multi-weekend New Orleans Jazz Festival.“We’d love to see you there,” the band shared in a tour announcement Instagram post.Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming My Morning Jacket shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the ‘My Morning Jacket is On Tour’ tour is Friday, Feb.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Mac Demarco, The War On Drugs, and My Morning Jacket‘s Jim James are among the artists featured on a benefit album in light of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.Earlier this month, Los Angeles was swept by five concurrent wildfires that brought unprecedented destruction to the area – more than 150,000 residents were forced to evacuate from their homes, 28 confirmed deaths and 22 missing persons have been reported to date.Yesterday (January 28), it was announced that ‘Super Bloom: A Benefit for Los Angeles Fire Relief’, a 62-track album, has been released in benefit of those affected by the disaster. Per Rolling Stone, the album was compiled by Nicky Devine, Nicole Lawrence, and Nora McDonough.

Arranged by the nonprofit of the same name, the organisation established their eponymous record label to release an album with contributions from Sleater-Kinney, Fleet Foxes, Cat Power, and more.

They reunited 16 years later to play a series of shows to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Great Divide’ and released a new EP ‘You’re Not Alone’ in 2020.Now, the band will release their new LP, which includes Jason Isbell and My Morning Jacket‘s Jim James, through Pleasuresonic Recordings on November 3.The trio – Dan Wilson, John Munson and Jacob Slichter – have also shared the video for the first taster from the record, which you can watch below.Wilson previously opened up about how Liam Gallagher indirectly inspired the band to reunite to release new music.“I had this great meeting with Liam,” he said at the time.
