EXCLUSIVE: Brothers Josh and Benny Safdie have begun rounding out the cast for their new Netflix movie, with Megan Thee Stallion now in talks to star alongside their Uncut Gems collaborator Adam Sandler, according to multiple sources.

Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr and Megan Mullally (Offerman’s real-life wife) reprise their original roles. “Party Down” is created by John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge and Paul Rudd.

It was announced in August 2022 that the hit series would be wrapping up with its fourth season. Offerman (“The Last of Us,” “Parks and Recreation”) and Mullally (“Will & Grace,” “Party Down”), who are married in real life, will star as Drs. Gene and Jean Thibedeau. The characters are described as “a married pair of community college professors from New Mexico who wear sensible footwear and suffer from the most extreme case of deja vu this timeline has ever seen.”

The two actors, who are married in real life, will play «a mild-mannered married couple named Jean and Gene, who are college professors,» Mullally told ET's Will Marfuggi while attending the premiere for season 3 on Wednesday in Los Angeles. «I mean, the deal's not quite closed but let's just pretend it is,» she said, revealing they start filming «in a couple of weeks.»The revelation comes after reported rumors that the two former stars were joining the Netflix series and are among several new roles being added to season 4.
