Homes Under The Hammer's Martin Roberts has revealed he was rushed to hospital and was close to death.Taking to Twitter, he shared a video of himself in a hospital ward saying: "Well, I have to say this isn’t where I expected to be watching Homes Under the Hammer."Little bit of good news, little bit of bad news."He added: "I ended up in hospital in Bath yesterday, I had a few chest pains and just feeling generally lousy, so I was brought in here and turns out I had a massive amount of fluid all around my heart, which was actually stopping my heart working."Had they not got rid of it, which they did in an emergency operation last night, then it’s sort of quite serious, like, hours to live kind of c***."So here I am, still around, thank goodness, thank the universe and guardian angels, all those things."The star told fans in his worrying update: "There’s lots of other complicated things that have happened as a result, but we will work through those, and I’ll keep you updated."But he was clearly in good spirits, as he chuckled: "Meanwhile, there’s a good TV show on that I think I’ll watch while I'm here!"Also visible in the shot was Martin's hospital bed in what looked to be a private room with a television in the corner and a window showing a sun-dappled staircase.He accompanied the clip on Twitter with the caption: "So. Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts has taken to social media to give fans an update after breaking down in tears at Costco while buying supplies for Ukrainian refugees. In a new video uploaded to Twitter, Martin told his 28,000 followers he had joined a “convoy” to deliver essential products to the Polish-Ukrainian border.He filmed himself in his van as he explained the journey he was set to make to “do his bit” to help those affected by the war.Martin explained: “I’m now in my van - I’ve got a VW van.“And I’ve been asked by a charity down in Bournemouth to help them and join their convoy to actually head to the Polish-Ukrainian border and take loads of supplies to literally the frontline.“So, I’ve bought some more stuff from the shops and I’m gonna pick up some pallets of stuff from their warehouse down in Bournemouth and get on the ferry and drive across France and the Netherlands and Germany, and then to the Polish border and hopefully be there in the next 24 hours or so.“And then I’ll be, hopefully, having a chance to actually see where this stuff goes, make sure it goes to the right places and just do my bit.“And I’m not doing this for any other reason other than, you know, it’s just me wanting to do what I can.“At the end of the day, in this case, I’m not a celebrity - I’m a man with a van.”Martin captioned the post: “Thank you for all your kind messages after my Costco experience.They meant the world.“Things have moved on.

Homes Under the Hammer star Martin Roberts broke down in tears at a car park after his purchase for Ukrainian child refugees was rejected.The TV presenter had tried to buy supplies for the young Ukrainians fleeing their war-torn country, after it was invaded by Putin's Russia last week.The host wanted to buy multiple bottles of Calpol for the families, but he could be seen crying outside a Costco supermarket when his payment was declined.Taking to Instagram with an emotional video, Martin said his shopping was rejected due to Costco's medicine policy, which limits the amount of medical supplies customers can take home.In an act of public kindness, though, other shoppers came to Martin's aid, chipping in so that all the bottles could be bought.He began: "So listen, like you, I’m properly just really at a loss in terms of what I can do to help with what’s going on in Ukraine."So I’ve come to Costco and I’ve just been buying lots of things like Pampers, kids stuff, Tampax and other bits and pieces."You know, things for kids because it’s the kids, you know, [they’re] everything,” he spluttered as he struggled to talk."So I’ve been trying to buy some Calpol and I’m only allowed to buy two, right?"He went on to talk about Costco's medicine-buying limit.The star continued: "And I know there’s some sort of sicko limit or some limit that they’ve put on that stops under normal circumstances people buying lots of Calpol, because of course…"So some people in the queue behind me and some people in the queue at the side of me both bought four bottles for me so I managed to get more.Thanking his fellow shoppers, he said: "And I offered them the money, it was about 10 quid for four, and they wouldn’t take it."So there are such good
