Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts now believes he has "never had such a lovely, overwhelmingly positive response to anything I've ever done" when it came to friends and colleagues, he was initially unsure of how his family - and especially his children, who he shares with wife Kirsty Roberts - might have taken the news.
His Strictly The Real Full Monty performance marked the first time Martin had ever gone fully nude in public."It was a big thing for my children having their dad strip off," Martin admitted, adding that it came with the prospect of being heckled at school."I think they were a bit worried about what their mates would say but, actually, their mates were really supportive," he enthused. That didn't mean there was no teasing, of course, and the 58-year-old admitted that friends of his children Scott and Megan were texting them, taunting: "We've just seen your dad's bum!"However, he added: "I think even kids got the reason [for The Full Monty].
I wasn't doing it because I wanted to strip off - I was doing it to raise awareness of a really important cause, so even kids can get that."Martin had been jubilant after a tense time rehearsing his routine, and tweeted after the event last December: "What a night!
After two months of trials and tribulations THAT HAT came OFF."Thanks for all your lovely messages. They mean so much."Hope u enjoyed the show and that it helped if you or anyone you love is touched by cancer.
