However, the 58-year-old property expert is adamant that he's in it for the long haul, and hopes to offer his skills in the years to come.Martin has encountered some horrific homes in his time, exclaiming of some: "You wonder how on earth people could have been living in there!"The open-mouthed presenter has often allowed his astonishment to show on screen, but now he has voiced the feelings behind his experiences during an exclusive interview.Referencing half a dozen particularly bad properties, he revealed: "It is like those extreme hoarder type programmes where there's just a small space for the chair, surrounded by years and years and years of rubbish piled around it!"Plus he imagines that some have housed entire menageries of animals, compelling him to wish he had fresher oxygen."You can imagine the kind of smell and the state that they're in," the horrified presenter confided.His message to homeowners is that there is much they can do to prevent, for example, the stench of mould."Just check there's airflow, so you don't get damp," he encouraged."Make sure you check for blocked gutters, blocked drains...
