Shakira is enjoying her time in Costa Rica! The Colombian singer was spotted having the best time during her tropical vacation, showing off her surfing skills and catching some waves. And while the star was briefly thrown off a wave at one point, she quickly got back up with the help of her instructor.The 46-year-old performer, who recently turned into a mermaid for her latest music video with Manuel Turizo, was photographed wearing a black wetsuit and a matching helmet as she practiced her balance on her white surfboard.

The duet centers on wanting more from a relationship that feels like drinking out of an empty cup, while the cinematic visual has Turizo rescuing Shakira from a littered ocean shore. The video was co-directed by Shakira and longtime collaborator Jaume de la Iguana. “You’re always busy with so many businesses,” Shakira sings in her verse over a reggaeton beat. “Drop your phone, use your hands with me/I know you’re hot but I’m hotter. I’ve been thirsty for you for a while, I don’t know why.”

Thania Garcia Premios Juventud, Univision’s awards show for Spanish-language pop culture, has announced its 2023 nominees for the 20th annual ceremony taking place in La Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico on July 20. This year, nine musicians are the most-nominated acts of the evening, among them: Bad Bunny, Becky G, Grupo Frontera, Maluma, Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Shakira and Tini. The packed lineup clearly reflects the addition of 15 new categories including best song for my ex, best urban track, best urban mix, best dembow song, best trap song, pop mix of the year, best pop/urban collaboration, best tropical album, among others. Actor and presenter Alejandra Espinoza returns as host and will be joined by a lineup of performances to be announced at a later date. Thania Garcia Marshmello is helping Manuel Turizo get over his ex in a new music video for the duo’s first cross-genre collaboration titled “El Merengue.” On Thursday, the duo premiered the track that puts a fresh spin on merengue with layered electro beats and Turizo’s rich baritone vocals. The video, directed by Chadrick Preuss and Sandeep Vadlamudi, follows a lovestruck Turizo who is hung up on an ex-flame that he casually runs into one night at a crowded nightclub. In the heat of the moment, the Colombian singer and his ex sway to the rhythms of the sultry merengue beat. Overtaken by rekindled emotions — and liquid courage — Turizo ends up retching into the nightclub’s toilet while an unmasked Marshmello listens from the next stall over.
