Premios Juventud are edging closer and closer. The popular awards show celebrates Latin artists across various spheres, with winners selected by the audience, who votes online for their favorite actors, performers, and moments from pop culture. This year’s awards show will be more special than usual, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the show.

Shakira is set to receive a very special recognition, not just for her undeniable impact from her successful music career, but also for her continuous support to young children when it comes to their education, with the help of her charitable Barefoot Foundation organization, which is focused on transforming the lives of kids who live in poverty and need access to education and resources.The Colombian singer will make an special appearance at Univision’s Premios Juventud in Puerto Rico, becoming an ‘Agent of Change’ at the highly anticipated awards. The singer revealed in a new interview with host Alejandra Espinoza, that her dream “is to be able to continue growing and make many more schools, get more resources from both the government and the private sector, and that every day more people understand that education is really that ‘Agent of Change.’”Shakira highlighted the importance of education for new generations, as her organization has been making an enormous effort to provide aid to children since 1997.

As a result of her talent and charm, she has been chosen to host the 20th Premios Juventud gala (Univision) in Puerto Rico on July 20, alongside actress and presenter Alejandra Espinoza, to celebrate the award’s 20th anniversary.

Thania Garcia Premios Juventud, Univision’s awards show for Spanish-language pop culture, has announced its 2023 nominees for the 20th annual ceremony taking place in La Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico on July 20. This year, nine musicians are the most-nominated acts of the evening, among them: Bad Bunny, Becky G, Grupo Frontera, Maluma, Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Shakira and Tini. The packed lineup clearly reflects the addition of 15 new categories including best song for my ex, best urban track, best urban mix, best dembow song, best trap song, pop mix of the year, best pop/urban collaboration, best tropical album, among others. Actor and presenter Alejandra Espinoza returns as host and will be joined by a lineup of performances to be announced at a later date. Other nominees include Camilo, Karol G, Manuel Turizo, and María Becerra, with each up for eight awards. Fans have until June 26 to vote on PremiosJuventud.com.
