Earlier this week on April 8, Third Eye Blind celebrated the 22nd anniversary of their self-titled debut studio album. It featured multiple hits including “Jumper” and “How’s It Going to Be,” but the most iconic song from the album is undoubtedly “Semi-Charmed Life.” The latter was a huge hit that sounds like an easygoing pop song, thanks in part to its opening “Doo-doo-doo” refrain which is borrowed from Lou Reed’s “Walk On The Wild Side.” The song’s upbeat melody helped mask the dark lyrics, which may be why many fans don’t realize the song is actually about crystal meth.

He is reported to have been suffering from coronavirus

Hal Willner — the respected producer who worked with Lou Reed and Marianne Faithfull, was a long-time “Saturday Night Live” staffer and compiled a series of eccentric all-star tribute albums — died Monday at the age of 64. A rep for Willner confirmed the producer’s death to Rolling Stone. While a cause of death has yet to be announced, a source close to Willner tells Rolling Stone he was suffering from symptoms consistent with the coronavirus.

Legendary guitarist Bob Kulick has passed away at the age of 70. Bob was best known for playing with KISS, which includes members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, as well as Diana Ross and Lou Reed.

Rock ‘n’ roll journeyman Bob Kulick, known for his guitar and production work for Kiss and for penning the “SpongeBob SquarePants” song “Sweet Victory,” has died. He was 70.
