The Chase fans fume at ITV bosses as they spot epic Patrick Stewart name 'blunder'
The Chase fans were left distracted when two players called Patrick and Stewart walked into the ITV gameshow studio - because their names spelled out that of a Hollywood legend with the same name. But the fans were fuming on Thursday (May 12) when they realised the two contestants hadn't been placed in the right way that would spell out Sir Patrick Stewart's name.Sir Patrick is, of course, a veteran actor who has famously starred in the likes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the X-Men series, and tons of stage productions for which he's won a Tony and Laurence Olivier awards.Viewers thought The Chase bosses had missed a trick as they could have spelled out the Hollywood star's name on the panel in a fun nod to sci-fi fans. However, they had been positioned on the podium in a way which meant Stewart was on the far left of the table and Patrick was on the far right. They were joined by their teammtes Ella and Nicky, but unsurprisingly it was Patrick and Stewart who garnered the most attention, especially as the duo made it to the Final Chase at the end of the show. But when they made it to the Final Chase against Chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, their names were still placed the opposite way around so that their names didn't match the actor's.Eagle-eyed fans flocked to Twitter to point out what they saw as a name blunder during the episode. One wrote: "Come on, they could have stood the other way around.
