The video includes a preview of the K-pop star wondering what his place is in the industry, as he asks: “What does it mean to be a K-pop star at 30?”“I always pushed my limits,” he tells the camera as more footage of himself working on music in the studio plays.

BTS rapper RM is set to release a documentary film called RM: Right People, Wrong Place, named after his May solo album.According to a press release on September 4, the movie is set to “explore the candid journey of BTS’ leader RM as he navigates the complexities of being a global superstar and the person Kim Nam-joon [RM’s given name].” The press release also noted that the film will “chronicle the eight months leading up to RM’s military enlistment”.RM: Right People, Wrong Place will be primarily set in the locations where “RM intensely worked on his album”, taking viewers “on a journey through Seoul, Tokyo and London, offering an in-depth look at the creative process behind RM’s second solo album”.Lee Seok-jun, who previously worked with BTS bandmate J-hope on his music videos for solo songs ‘Arson’ and ‘More’, will be the director behind RM’s upcoming solo feature film. RM: Right People, Wrong Place has also been selected for a premiere at this year’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

EXCLUSIVE: Dread, the L.A.-based distribution and financing company of Epic Pictures, has acquired North American rights to Korean action film A Man of Reason from Acemaker Movieworks. The feature directorial debut of veteran actor Jung Woo-sung will have a limited theatrical release on July 5 before heading to VOD.

Apink member Kim Nam-joo has revealed that the K-pop girl group are working on new music.Apink’s Kim Nam-joo recently released her new solo single ‘Bad’, which comes four years after she made her solo debut with ‘Bird’ in 2020. During a recent press showcase for the release, the singer revealed that the girl group are working on new music.“Apink are currently preparing for a new release this year,” she said, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.

Apink, has teased new solo music.Yesterday (February 14), Apink’s Kim Nam-joo released a new official logo through the K-pop girl group’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account. The post feature a symbol that’s a combination of her initials, alongside several hashtags.The K-pop singer’s label Choi Creative Lab has since confirmed that she will release new solo music sometimes this year, according to a report by Korea JoongAng Daily.

Mask Girl.In Mask Girl, Ahn Jae-hong plays office worker Joo Oh-nam, a socially withdrawn man obsessed with the show’s titular character. The series also stars After School‘s Nana, veteran actress Go Hyun-jung and newcomer Lee Han-byeol.In a new interview with The Korea Times, Ahn Jae-hong touched on the steps it took to transform himself into the character of Joo Oh-nam, including a 10kg weight gain and special effects makeup.“I wanted [Joo] to have a bizarre look that can show his character with a glance, so the special effects makeup director gave a lot of ideas too,” he said.

Song of the Bandits, starring Kim Nam-gil and Seohyun.Set in the 1920s, the upcoming Song of the Bandits revolves around Koreans who have escaped to the Gando region in China during the Japanese occupation. The series is led by Kim Nam-gil (Through the Darkness) and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun (Jinxed at First).The new trailer opens with an introduction to the bandits of Gando led by Lee Yoon (played by Kim), a defected Japanese soldier who now steals and kills to protect his countrymen in the region.“Chinese land, Japanese money and Joseon’s people.

Apink apart from Jung Eun-ji have left their longtime agency IST Entertainment.On April 28, IST Entertainment released a statement announcing that Apink members Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young have left the agency. This marks the end of the four members’ partnership with the entertainment company, which began in 2011 upon the group’s debut.Of the group’s five members, Jung Eun-ji was the only one to renew her contract with IST.

According to the streaming platform, Island will tap into the cultural legends and ancient folklores of one of South Korea’s most famous islands.

Emergency Declaration, starring Squid Game’s Lee Byung-hun and Parasite’s Song Kang-ho, has been released.Emergency Declaration follows a detective’s investigation into a suspected terrorist who has already managed to board a plane and has broadcast his plan to kill everyone on board.The new visual follows Jae Hyuk (Lee) and his fellow airplane passengers, who begin to suspect that something sinister is afoot when their plane begins to tilt dangerously and they witness one of the stewardesses having a seizure.Their suspicions are later confirmed when they see a video uploaded by passenger Jin Seok (Im Si-wan, also a member of the boyband ZE:A). “This is it,” Jin Seok declares, as he records the video elsewhere on the plane.

Tiffany Young has revealed that Girls’ Generation might have plan to reunite sometime this year.The Korean-American idol recently spoke with ELLE Korea in a new video interview, during which she was asked if the iconic K-pop girl group had any plans to celebrate their upcoming 15th debut anniversary, which falls on August 5 this year.Despite saying that she needed “confirmation” before announcing any details, Young did share that there was something in the works for the group. “I need confirmation before saying anything… yes, we do have something planned,” she shared.

Girls’ Generation member Seohyun and Through The Darkness actor Kim Nam-gil will join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming original series Song of the Bandits.On March 14, Netflix Korea confirmed that Seohyun and Kim will join the cast of its upcoming original period drama. Song of the Bandits is also set to star veteran actor Yoo Jae-myung (Hometown), Lee Hyun-wook (Mine), and rising actress Lee Ho-jung (Nevertheless).The historical drama will be set in the 1920s, a period during which Korea was under Japanese colonial rule.
