George Yang AMC Networks has announced a collaboration with DreadXP and game developer DarkStone Digital to produce a video game based on the TV series “Creepshow.” The show, available for streaming on Shudder, is executive produced by Greg Nicotero and is based on George A. Romero’s 1982 film. Production company Cartel Entertainment will also help bring the “Creepshow” series to the video game medium across multiple platforms in 2024. The video game will follow “Creepshow’s” anthology format and feature several self-contained horror stories across different types of gameplay genres and tones. DarkStone Digital is also one of several independent developers who are working on episodic installments to the “Creepshow” video game. DarkStone Digital is best known for indie horror games such as “The Mortuary Assistant.” The full list of contributing game developers will be revealed at a later date.

Alex Ritman Epic Pictures Group has made a number of announcements on the first day of the American Film Market. The indie production, finance and distribution house has acquired a slate of features depicting the real-life stories of notorious serial killers, including “Ed Kemper,” “Dorothea” (about Dorothea Puente), “The Devil’s Disciple” (Richard Ramirez) and “The Golden State Killer” (about Joseph James DeAngelo).

The feature directorial debut of veteran actor Jung Woo-sung will have a limited theatrical release on July 5 before heading to VOD.

Paranormal Activity has a video game on the way, it has been announced.While the game is currently slated for a 2026 release and information on the game is fairly scarce, it has been confirmed that it will feature a advanced “haunt system” that dynamically changes how scary the game is based on what they do. Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer A new video game based on Paramount’s “Paranormal Activity” horror franchise is slated to release in 2026 from DreadXP, the publisher of hit horror video game “The Mortuary Assistant.” Per DreadXP and Paramount Global, the “Paranormal Activity” video game “will bring the franchise’s groundbreaking found-footage style to horror enthusiasts in surprising new ways, immersing them in a story that expands upon the lore and world of the films.” The title, which will be available across multiple platforms, will include an advanced version of the “Haunt System” that will “dynamically alter the types and intensity of scares players will encounter based on their actions.” DreadXP co-director and creative director Brian Clarke (DarkStone Digital), the main developer on “The Mortuary Assistant,” is leading the development of the “Paranormal Activity” video game. Beginning with the first “Paranormal Activity” film in 2007, the seven-film franchise from Blumhouse and Solana Films is credited with reimagining the “found footage” horror genre.
