Every year, as the Academy Awards announce their Oscar nominees, The Razzie Awards follow suit with their awards for the past year’s worst films and performances. But the Razzies may have taken their schtick too far for their 2023 ballot.

That didn’t age well. The ever-sarcastic Razzie Awards have retracted their special category for Worst Performance by Bruce Willis, whose retirement due to illness was announced Wednesday.

A change of heart. The Razzie Awards have walked back their decision to continue their “Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in 2021” award following the actor’s recent health issues.

There seems to be a bit of a boom—well, perhaps more like a pop—of alternative comedy series hitting streaming services and networks over the past several years. Over on Comedy Central, there was the (well before its time) series, “Nathan For You.” Netflix is seeing success with “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.” And not to be outdone, you have HBO with “How To with John Wilson.” READ MORE: The 25 Best TV Shows & Mini-Series Of 2020 And as seen in the new trailer for Season 2, ‘How To’ continues to be, similar to the aforementioned shows, a series that is really difficult to describe but also incredibly hilarious.

Humor is subjective. While Hollywood studios would likely greatly abuse the formula for guaranteed laughs, the truth is that telling jokes and making people laugh is something that can’t really be nailed down to one obvious style.
