Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle looks unrecognisable after leaving soap for Hollywood
Hollyoaks 12 years ago for Hollywood, where he went on to build an impressive career.While part of the Hollyoaks cast, he played Calvin Valentine from 2006 to 2010.The Oldham-born actor was recently spotted at the 61st Monte-carlo Television Festival in Monaco.Since his Hollyoaks days, Ricky has dyed his dark hair platinum blonde on top, and now has a fuller beard.At the event, he donned a blue waistcoat and matching shorts, paired with a white short-sleeved granddad shirt.He wore a pair of box-fresh white trainers and accessorised with a brown leather watch and bracelets.Before heading to tinsel town, Ricky took part in the 2009 series of Strictly Come Dancing.He then made the move to LA, starring in the US remake of BBC drama, Mistresses, action series The 100 and fantasy show American Gods, starring opposite Ian McShane of Lovejoy fame.He also has accrued several film credits to his name, including Netflix film Nappily Ever After, as well as 2013 romcom Austenland.For more of the latest showbiz news from the Daily Star, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.His life has changed greatly since he starred in the Cheshire-based soap, where he dated his co-star Carley Stenson, who played Steph Cunningham in the soap.Since crossing the pond, Ricky has been linked to former Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szhor and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis, although isn't thought to have had a serious relationship since Carley.He also purchased property in the States, splashing out on a £1.2million LA property back in 2019.The large house is said to boast three bedrooms and four bathrooms, a games room, a wet bar and a wine cellar.

Starz and Lionsgate Television's highly-anticipated John Wick TV series The Continental has just added five new cast members.Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa have all signed on to the new series, via Deadline.They join a cast that already Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell,Peter Greene, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate and Ben Robson. Cast:Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa have all signed on to the new series, via DeadlineThe series will be set in 1975 New York City, exploring the origins of both The Continental hotel, which was showcased in the John Wick films as a safe haven for assassins, and Winston Scott.Woodell will play a younger Winston Scott (portrayed by Ian McShane in the John Wick films), who is, 'dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he'd left behind.' The show follows Winston as he, 'charts a deadly course through the New York's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world's most dangerous criminals,' according to the show's description.
