Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Lionsgate TV Group chair/chief creative officer Kevin Beggs has been tapped to serve as the new chairman of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the org announced Thursday. Beggs takes over for Fred Cohen, who remains at the International Academy as foundation chairman and executive committee member. Beggs had previously been treasurer of the International Academy; that position will now be held by former MGM Worldwide Networks, AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global exec Bruce Tuchman, who had most recently been secretary.

The so called “Gala” partnership includes sponsorship of the International Emmy World Television Festival in New York, where over 600 television professionals from over 60 countries convene annually, and the International Emmy Awards Gala as well as International Academy events that will take place in Dubai.
