In his first major address since the country went into lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic, former US president Barack Obama‘s speech read like an indictment of Donald Trump‘s response to the global health crises. The 58-year-old delivered a commencement speech to graduates at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) on May 16, and offered his words of wisdom. “More than anything, this pandemic has fully finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing,” Obama said in a clip, which was streamed online as part of the “Show Me Your Walk H.B.C.U. Edition” virtual ceremony. “A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”

 Eva Longoria  is encouraging the Class of 2020 to be a bean taco – not a Pop-Tart. The Grand Hotel producer participated in the Her Campus Media’s “I’m Still Graduating” virtual graduation ceremony and offered a pearl of wisdom taken from her days in grade school in Texas. The mother-of-one opened up about being the outcast after she was sent across town to take the Gifted and Talented test that would potentially “qualify her for a superior program that would put me on a brighter path.”

The couple read The Word Collector by Peter H. Thanks to MyHeritage, fans can see what that bright-eyed young woman looked like in her teen years and her resemblance to daughters Sasha and Malia. It’s not hard to recognize the Becoming author, whose photo appears almost center stage. Eloquent, thoughtful young women, their pride in their parents is palpable.  Malia , especially, seems to find her mom’s new journey as author and motivational speaker particularly emotional. Michelle Obama‘s Netflix documentary, Becoming, focuses on her successful 2018-2019 book tour for her memoir of the same name. But there’s plenty of intimate family moments within the film, as well. Along with husband Barack Obama, the former First Lady’s eldest daughter, Malia Obama, 21, makes a particularly touching appearance. At one point in the documentary, Malia is seen greeting her mother backstage during a stop on her Becoming book tour. “You’re so good, I love you too much. I cried again,” Malia says. Michelle asks Malia, whom she adorably calls her “little potato,” why she’s “always crying.”

Just when you thought that you had watched all that Netflix has to offer, a Michelle Obama documentary drops and we can only imagine how inspiring it will be.
