The National Food Strategy, led by Leon founder Henry Dimbleby, describes Britain’s attitude to healthy eating a “slow-motion disaster”.

This week, the government introduced a new obesity strategy to combat coronavirus and help the NHS.The move means that buy one get one free offers on high fat and sugar products will be banned.As will junk food adverts before 9pm.Henry Dimbleby praised the new plan, which will also enforce calorie labels in restaurants and on alcohol, but warned about the effects of “misleading packaging”.The 110 page National Food Strategy report said that the food industry clothed “itself and its products in false virtue”.Meaning that many items seek to make themselves seem far healthier than they are through packaging.
