And he continued his momentum by coming off the bench against Club Brugge for the final 25 minutes and scoring his first Champions League goal with a lovely stroke past the goalkeeper.
Talk of the Wythenshawe talent dominated Guardiola's post-match press conference and while the manager still wants caution he would not entertain any idea of Palmer going out on loan in January as interest in the player mounts and the calls for more regular football
