Two councillors have been promoted to the cabinet and an extra executive support member post has been created, taking the size of the team to 16.
Two newly-elected councillors have also been given roles in the wider team. But only a quarter of the whole mayoral team are women – fewer than before.
Four women have been given roles in total and only two are in the cabinet. Labour councillor Kate Lewis broke ranks to express her disappointment in the decision, accusing Salford's city mayor of simply 'paying lip service to equality'.
