Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has revealed that he mistakenly purchased a pair of football boots that your average Sunday league footballer might wear when he was preparing for his Red Devils comeback.
Scholes was sponsored by American kit giants Nike for the majority of his incredibly successful career with United. But as his comeback was kept top secret, he could not contact the company to order a pair of his usual boots and was instead forced to buy his own.
Seemingly unaware of how much top end boots retail for, Scholes ended up with £50 pair which would have been manufactured using cheaper materials.
And it was former Man Utd team-mate Jonny Evans who pointed out Scholes' hilarious faux-pas in training ahead of his big return
