Paul Scholes has revealed he was mocked by team-mate Jonny Evans as he prepared to make his Manchester United comeback in a derby clash in 2012.
Scholes had retired at the end of the 2010-11 campaign and joined the coaching staff at United. But the following season he reversed his decision due to an injury crisis and came on as a substitute in an FA Cup clash against Manchester City.
And Scholes has recalled how defender Evans took the mickey out of his boots as United were preparing to face their rivals in a third-round encounter at the Etihad Stadium. "I bought a pair of boots, I think they were about £50," Scholes told the Savage Social Podcast. "They were all the ones the lads were wearing, obviously.
