Pat Sharp still knows how to press all the right buttons when it comes to entertaining.It’s nearly 40 years since he started out on the Radio 1 airwaves, before landing classic kids’ show Fun House alongside twins Melanie and Martina Grant and then DJing on a string of radio stations.And Pat – columnist for our sister paper the Daily Star Sunday – reckons he’s lasted so long in showbiz because he’s not a fame chaser.He said: “I can name you a lot of famous presenters that have never pressed a button in a radio station.“They sit the other side with an engineer firing everything in and they have the microphone on a lot of shows – including certain breakfast shows."Many people are on radio because of their fame.
