Reddit, a poster asked the same question: “Why do you travel solo?” And, the answers rolled in, with many saying that their family was “busy” or even that their friends want to “sit around too much”.The poster said: “I honestly started solo traveling in order to explore my more ‘wild’ and extroverted side, tried going on Couchsurfing and met up with strangers online for the fun of it.“But then I gradually discovered how much I enjoy it more when I travel alone.“Love this special bonding time I get with myself and the space to be with my own thoughts.”And, hundreds of other solo travellers explained why they chose to go on holiday all by themselves,One poster replied: “My friends are: busy raising their families, can’t afford it, don’t travel without their significant others.“I'm not going to wait for someone to be available, I can just go by myself.”Another added that their friends were: “Too preoccupied with planning everything and strict time management/overly anxious, not very spontaneous, aren’t risk takers, want to sit around too much.“Love them to death but it can get very annoying sometimes.”A third wrote: “I've been solo traveling for nearly 30 years now, lots of international trips for two to four weeks at a pop.“No one really wants to go on foreign trips for two to four weeks a pop, at least not the same places I do.”A bloke added: “I can’t find anyone I actually want to travel with.
