Oprah Winfrey has been slated for saying she hopes that "burying the dead" will help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find "peace" with the Royal family.
The American chat show host spoke frankly about Prince Harry and his brother Prince William's relationship and said she was hopeful that it can now be restored following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.Talking to Extra she said: "I think in all families - you know, my father passed recently, this summer - and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of, you know, burying your dead, there's an opportunity for peacemaking."READ MORE: Brit Taliban pal condemns 'anti Queen merch aimed at Twitter trolls and the Irish'"And hopefully, there will be that," she added.Despite trying to provide a positive take on the situation, the 68-year-old's comments didn't sit well with fans who previously accused her of igniting tensions with the family during her interview with Harry and Meghan.Sharing their thoughts on Twitter, one person wrote: "Oprah talks about 'burying the dead' and says she hopes it will help Prince Harry and Meghan 'make peace' with the royals.
