Plans to build 40 new homes on a college’s sports pitch are causing controversy, with residents worried it would make pollution and traffic worse.The Trafford College group submitted an application to Trafford council for outline planning permission for housing on Trafford College’s all-weather pitch and overflow car park just off Stamford Brook Road in Timperley.More than 50 letters have been written to the council objecting to the plans since they were submitted in July 2019.But the college says the pitch and car park haven’t been used ‘for some time’ and all relevant pollution and traffic assessments have found the development acceptable.Residents are concerned that without the all-weather pitch, students will no longer have any outdoor.
