Christmas draws near and people get into the festive spirit, elderly dogs at animal shelters up and down the country are hoping for one last chance to be re-homed.
The adorable dogs, affectionately named Old Aged Pooches (OAPs), are often overlooked because of their age for puppies when prospective parents come looking.And with time of the essence, it may be the last Christmas they have to spend with a loving family.Adam Clowes, Dogs Trust Director of Operations, told Daily Star it can be “especially sad” when older dogs are sent to their shelter, as they can find it harder to adjust to kennel life."We really hope that the age of these dogs doesn’t mean they get overlooked," he said.
