dailystar.co.ukDaily Star's biggest headlines straight to your inbox!Novak Djokovic broke down in tears in the final set of his US Open defeat to Daniil Medvedev which put pay to his historic Grand Slam bid.Djokovic, 34, was aiming to become just the sixth man in tennis history to complete a calendar sweep of the majors, while also looking to pick up an all-time record 21st men's title.But Russian Medvedev, who had twice previously lost in Grand Slam finals, won the match in straight sets with a 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory.And as it became apparent his record-breaking hopes were fading it all became too much for Djokovic who couldn't hold back his emotions on the court.The Serb began crying during a changeover, using his towel to wipe away the tears as he got set.
