A fraud probe has been launched by Police Scotland’s financial crimes unit after seven complaints that more than £600,000 raised by activists was diverted by the SNP for other purposes.
The Sunday Mail has learned officers have now begun proactively contacting former party officials and it is expected SNP chief executive Peter Murrell – who is married to Sturgeon – will.
