Newcastle United fans think new signing Nick Pope “forgot who he signed for” in the most “awkward video ever”.The Magpies secured their second signing of the summer transfer window on Thursday after landing Nick Pope from Burnley for £10million.

The goalkeeper, 30, signed a four-year contract at St James’ Park which will see him challenge Martin Dubravka for the no.1 shirt.England shot-stopper Pope appeared delighted to have joined the Saudi-backed club as he recorded himself greeting Newcastle fans in a clip posted on the club’s Twitter page.

A cheerful Pope said: “Hi, Nick Pope here. Delighted to sign for your football club. Looking forward to getting started.
