Miles Cash, 22, was seen by officers driving a stolen Vauxhall van into a side street, so they followed him. Cash, from Middlesex, increased his speed, before officers activated their emergency lights, Manchester Crown Court heard.
He then began to brake hard and reverse, ramming the police car repeatedly before driving out onto a main road.Dash cam footage showed the van being driven onto the wrong side of the road, mounting the pavement and nearly hitting a cyclist, before heading back onto housing estate.Cash eventually stopped and held his hands up as he exited the van.At an earlier hearing, he pleaded.
