BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty, 45, has been told off by bosses after appearing in a paid corporate video for luxury car company Aston Martin.The star, who earns up to £195,000 per year, hosted a webinar for the car maker without asking for permission from the BBC or informing them about her fee, according to i’s sources.The video showed how Aston Martin was “engaging and assisting employees” during the coronavirus pandemic.This comes after the company's plans to cut 500 jobs, which make up a fifth of its workforce.
Following her appearance in the video, BBC bosses have told Naga that she risked a “conflict of interest”.She also potentially jeopardised the BBC's impartiality, as the presenter could potentially be asked to discuss.
