But the designers who created the eye-catching item also created an alternative dress for her to wear - but they kept it completely secert.
They were so tight-lipped that they didn't even tell the bride or the rest of the royal family about it. Elizabeth and David Emanuel were tasked with designing and making the ivory taffeta gown, which featured 10,000 pearls and an impressive 25-foot-long train.
