Lying in a hospice bed, a devastated Courtney Lane held on to her "little king" as he tragically took his final breaths.Two-year-old tot Austin-Lea Lane could not continue his battle any longer after spending almost all of his short life fighting Infantile Sandhoff Disease - a rare inherited disorder which affects one in every million children.
It meant he was unable to walk, talk or eat with the disease destroying the nerve cells in his brain and spinal cord, reports Chronicle Live.
However despite facing such a struggle, the Shiremoor youngster was always smiling and having a giggle with his five-year-old brother Bentley, who refused to leave Austin's side.
