Every year, approximately one in 13 babies will be born premature in the UK. World Prematurity Day, which falls on November 17 every year, raises awareness of an early birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide.
One mother knows all too well about the emotional heartache of raising preterm children and having an early birth. Lisa Stockdale, from Great Lumley, Durham, welcomed her twin daughters Sophia and Olivia into the world in February 2019.
