Mohamed Salah concedes he was "very disappointed" not to be given the armband in Liverpool's recent Champions League game at FC Midtjylland.
The Reds fielded a much changed side in their dead rubber game against the Danish side earlier this month. Jordan Henderson was left out meaning Salah was one of the most senior players starting the game.
But Jurgen Klopp opted to make Trent Alexander-Arnold captain rather than the Egyptian. Salah opened the scoring that night but admits his coach's decision was a tough one to take.
He told AS : "Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it's a coach's decision. I accept it." Salah has been prolific since moving to Anfield in 2017 scoring 108 times in 172 outings.
