Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Joel Matip after the Cameroon international's injury on Sunday. The defender came off against West Brom and Klopp initially gave a worrying update.
But after the 0-0 draw against Newcastle, there is now a more precise timeframe on the ex-Schalke star's recovery. Matip has sustained an adductor strain and Klopp said: “The normal stuff with these kind of injuries, [he will be out for] around about three weeks.” It leaves Liverpool without a senior centre-back after injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
