Celtic are still chasing the Egyptian midfielder but face competition from two Turkish clubs. The 24-year-old has impressed with Al-Ahly and was linked with a switch to the Premiership last season.

The attacking midfielder joined the Egyptian giants from Pyramids FC in 2019 and helped in their run to the African Champions League final.

Known largely by his nickname Afsha, the fully-fledged Egypt international contributed with five goals and eight assists in last season's Egyptian Premier League as his club stormed to the title.
