Mobile COVID-19 testing unit to open next week in Ayrshire's coronavirus capital

Girvan on Monday and Tuesday next week.This temporary facility will allow people who have COVID-19 symptoms to get a free swab test as part of the Government’s UK-wide drive to improve the accessibility of coronavirus testing for communities.The unit will be set up on Monday, January 18 and Tuesday, January 19 at the Quay Zone site in Knockcushan Street.The site will be open from 10am to 6pm both days.Tests must be booked in advance with the booking portal and can be booked at: https://www.nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect or by calling 0800 028 2816.The mobile unit comes after news last week that Girvan is the coronavirus capital of South Ayrshire.The number of positive results of COVID-19 have risen sharply in the town and in the Glendoune.
