Manchester United have been brutally ridiculed after fans compared their leaky defence to Millwall's incompetent stewarding during a pitch invasion at The Den on Saturday.Strikes from Benik Afobe and George Saville, either side of a Josh Knight own goal, saw the Lions claim a 3-0 success over already-relegated Peterborough in their final home game of the season to keep their slim Championship play-offs hopes alive.

Gary Rowett's side sit eighth in the table, three points adrift of Luton and Sheffield United, who currently occupy fifth and sixth spots - a slender two points ahead of Middlesborough.Fans celebrated Millwall's fine campaign with a pitch invasion at the end of their final home match at The Den this season, and footage of supporters storming the turf has since gone viral.

Pathetic attempts from the club's stewards to prevent spectators from flocking to field of play were mocked by the masses - and United found themselves the butt of the jokes.Millwall stewards were seen to be spreading themselves out in front of stands inside The Den as they attempted to block fans from entering the pitch.

However, the limited number of match-day assistants meant they left gaps within their human blockade.Hilarious footage showed Lions fans simply walking past the stewards and on to the pitch as the officials made minimal effort to keep spectators at bay and prevent them from joining in.
