London.Bath and North East Somerset Council has confirmed private vehicles will not be charged under the new scheme.The daily charge will come into power for those who drive a van, lights good vehicle or pick-up truck.Campervans, minibuses, taxis and even private hire vehicles will be asked to pay a £9 daily fee if they enter the zone.
Drivers who have travelled in Bath's Clean Air Zone but failed to pay the charge could face a hefty fine. It is set at £120 but drivers can receive a discount of £60 if it's paid within 14 days.
However, the penalty charge must be paid within 28 days from when the notice was issued.The charge is being introduced to help the city meet its UK air quality legislation.
