Mikel Arteta is set to link up with Mohamed Elneny for the first time as the Egypt midfielder returns to Arsenal for pre-season training.
Elneny joined Besiktas on a season-long loan twelve months ago, when Arteta's predecessor Unai Emery was still Gunners boss.
The 28-year-old performed well for the Turkish giants, making 36 appearances across all competitions and contributing one goal and four assists.
But with loan spell over, Elneny will return to the Arsenal squad and begin preparations for the coming campaign this weekend.
