A dad who died of Covid despite shielding has been praised for leaving behind the ultimate legacy - six children who all work on the NHS front line.

Tributes have poured in for retired maths teacher Ahsan-ul-Haq Chaudry praising his hard work in raising an ITU doctor, two GPs, a junior doctor, a paediatric consultant and a pharmacist.

The proud dad died aged 81 in Queen's Hospital, Romford, where his daughter is a GP, after he was initially admitted to accident and emergency where his son works.

He came to UK in the late 1950s as a poverty-stricken 19-year-old after fleeing partition violence in India and worked multiple jobs to support his kids through education.
