The City youngster scored during their win over Wolves in their first game of the Premier League season on Monday, and in last night's Carabao Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Monday was Foden's first involvement after he was sent home early by Gareth Southgate after breaching coronavirus protocol alongside Manchester United's Mason Greenwood.
However, Richards has urged the pair to get their England careers back on the right foot with their form for their clubs, having seen his own international career ended prematurely.
